UFO #10 (April) - DONE

I have to admit that the UFO I finished was not #10 on my original list--it is actually #8 on my B list of UFOs!  What can I say?!  I walked into my sewing/quilting room and saw the bowl (my husband does wood turning so I have a lot of wood bowls in my room!) full of Christmas Dresden plate blades in various states of completion--and decided that I needed to get them out of the way and into a completed top.  So that's what I did.  This was truly a UFO!!  I made 3 Dresden plate/fan quilts last year with Chrismas fabric, and had leftover blades, some of which were already sewn together for plates.  I tried to give my extras to my sister, and she said she had too many projects already started.  I decided one more would be fine, and proceeded--and now it's done.  I still had some leftover "blades," but a quilting buddy wants to make a Dresden plate quilt and I will gift them to her--yea!!  Used quite a bit of my Christmas stash, too.  Backing and binding are made.

  1. Pat,
Your Dresden Plates look beautiful! I just bought a kit for my mother (a novice piecer) to make a lap quilt in this design (Moda's Milk Chocolate Bars) and I hope that hers comes out just as nicely. I can't wait to show a picture of your quilt to her! Nicely done!

  5. It's a beautiful quilt. And I say a finished UFO project is always an accomplishment. No matter which list it was on, it's not on that list anymore!
